When you create a website with Synthasite, Synthasite gives you two choices.

• Choose a free subdomain : You can choose a free subdomain by Synthasite. Your site's address will be: www.your-site-address.synthasite.com
• Choose a custom domain name: You can choose to register a custom domain like .com or .net. For this you will have to pay $14.95/year.

So the decision is upto you. Choose any one of the option which suits you. Frankly speaking, I have till now not purchased a custom domain. The reason is that I can't afford it. But I will advice people to buy a custom domain instead of using a free domain. It has a number of advantages.
